Our Mission: To provide musical performance experiences for students with special needs through peer mentorship.
The Program: United Sound, a peer mentoring program for students with special needs, offers the solution for music educators who desire to include students with disabilities in their music programs but struggle with the “how” and the “when” under increasing performance and school pressure. Using United Sound’s teacher training, student mentor training, and specialized curriculum resources, student mentors become teachers for New Musicians (students with special needs) at their schools. New Musicians are taught by their Peer Mentors to play the instrument of their choice at a personally modified level ultimately culminating in performances together.
