Fundraising

The OS Band Boosters organizers fundraisers to support the activities of our students and the program. These funds are utilized to purchase equipment, hire clinicians, pay for the big Band Trip, etc. We offer a "menu" of fundraising opportunities to allow students to build credit towards their band fee contribution and trip payments. You can read some basic info about some of the options below and links are included that will take you more information and the sign ups.

Children's Mercy Park/Sporting KC Concessions

This is ongoing from March through December each year. The events take place at Children's Mercy Park near the Legends shopping complex in Kansas City, KC. You can learn more and find a link to the sign up on the CMP page.

Mattress Sale

9This has been an annual fundraiser for the band since 2014. We were the first group in the KC area to do it and it has been incredibly successful. The biggest thing we have to do is promote the sale and it all happens in one day. Families get fundraising credit based on referrals from buyers and a percentage of the money we earn from the mattress sale. The 2018 Mattress Sale will be on Sunday, September 15. We will start the process of promoting the sale in August.

UltraMax Sports Volunteers

For several years, we have had students and parents volunteer as helpers for race events around Kansas City that are run by UltraMax Sports. Students and parents work at water stations, removing timing chips at the end of races and similar, then UltraMax makes a donation to the band program...which we credit to the family that worked. Here are events coming up:
  • Wonder Woman Run - Saturday, June 22 in Downtown KC at Crown Center  SIGN UP
There will either be a place on their sign up page or on the waiver form/sign in form you complete on the day of the event to note your group affiliation...make sure to list "Olathe South Band". If you don't see an area for that, you may need to reach out to their contact person to confirm.

Merchandise Sales

We occasionally schedule an item-based or merchandise sale as a fundraiser. Past sales have included wrapping paper, Butterbraid pastry, candles, holiday greenery, gourmet suckers, and coupon books. The OS Band Boosters typically decide on fundraising activities for the year during the summer or at the very beginning of the school year. Information about these fundraising activities will be emailed out to band families and explained to students at school.
